CALL TO ORDER
REPRESENTATIVE SCOTT OGAN, Chair, called the joint meeting of
the House Special Committee on Oil and Gas and the House
Resources Standing Committee to order at 10:03 a.m.
PRESENT
Committee members present were Representatives Ogan, Dyson,
Fate, Kohring, Guess, Joule, Masek, Scalzi, Stevens, Green,
Kerttula, and Chenault. Also present was Representative
Coghill.
SUMMARY OF INFORMATION
An overview presentation was given by the Alyeska Pipeline
Service Company and handouts were provided. Presenters were:
DAVID WIGHT, President and Chief Executive Officer, Alyeska
Pipeline Service Company
DAN HISEY, Chief Operating Officer, Alyeska Pipeline Service
Company
Detailed information was given to the committee regarding
corporate culture, workforce diversity, safety performance,
pipeline maintenance programs, the Valdez Marine Terminal,
"berth rebuild" projects, fire-suppression systems, the ship-
escort response vessel system, operating costs, and the right-
of-way renewal process. Questions by committee members were
taken throughout and after the presentation.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Members were to reconvene in the Senate Finance Room, Room 532,
at noon for a joint meeting of the Senate Resources Standing
Committee, the House Resources Standing Committee, and the House
Special Committee on Oil and Gas. The presentation was to be
given by Mr. Shigeru (Sam) Muraki, General Manager - Gas
Resources Department, Tokyo Gas Company Ltd.
COMMITTEE ACTION
The committee took no action.
ADJOURNMENT
CHAIR OGAN adjourned the joint meeting of the House Special
Committee on Oil and Gas and the House Resources Standing
Committee at approximately 11:45 a.m. [For the overview on the
LNG market in Japan and Asia by Shigeru Muraki of Tokyo Gas
Company Ltd., please see the minutes for 12:10 p.m. this same
date.]
